Belkyra
BelkyraTM is a formulation of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the absorption and breakdown of fat. When injected into subcutaneous fat Belkyra causes the destruction of fat cells. Each treatment takes about 30 minutes and involves application of a topical freezing after which several tiny injections are made in a grid-like pattern on the submental (under chin) area. Usually 2-4 treatments are necessary to achieve desired results which are considered permanent.
